How does Smart Lipo™ Laser Body Sculpting work?
This laser-assisted lipolysis procedure is performed in Dr. Davie's Manhattan and Brooklyn Clinic using a one millimeter cannula (or tube) inserted under the skin. A laser fiber inside of the cannula delivers energy directly to fat cells, causing them to rupture and drain away as liquid. Simultaneously, tissue around the area coagulates, resulting in overall tighter skin tissue.
What areas of the body can be treated?

How does Smart Lipo™ Laser Body Sculpting compare to conventional liposuction?
Smart Lipo is much less invasive than conventional liposuction. With Smart Lipo there is significantly less bleeding, swelling and bruising than traditional liposuction. As a result, recovery is faster. Because local anesthetic is used instead of general anesthesia, you are awake during the procedure – that’s real plus leading you to a faster, easier recovery. Also, with SmartLipo it is possible to remove fat without leaving behind unsightly pockets of skin, lumpy or uneven appearance of treated areas as often happens after traditional liposuction.
Is there a recovery period?
Smart Lipo™ Laser Body Sculpting is a minimally invasive procedure which usually requires only local anesthesia. Some light trauma can occur, but you'll be able to return to work in a couple of days and resume exercise after two weeks.
How many treatments are required?
Typically only one treatment is required. Results can be seen within a week, with continued improvement over three to six months. A compression garment may be worn for a short period after treatment, depending on the body area treated.
